Miss Utah 2009

Miss Utah was a wonderful week! Our girls Staci, Kami and Whitney were AMAZING! They looked beautiful and their talents were awesome! Whitney was chosen as Miss Utah 2009. She has worked hard for 2 years to prepare and she is ready for the job.

It is always bittersweet when someone wins and someone doesn't. I love these young women. They put everything they have out on the line to be judged by a panel of 7 people. It doesn't always go the way we want....but they try so hard! They have such a desire to make Pleasant Grove proud. I have such respect and gratitude for the job they do. They told us this year at Miss Utah that there were 700 young women that tried out state wide to become eligible to compete at Miss Utah 2009. Only 46 young women made it! That shows what amazing young women we have!

I am constantly amazed by their mother's (and dad's) as well. In the past two years I have worked closely with Lois and Denise. They have been unfailing in their support of their daughters. They are some of my dearest friends in all the world. I have never seen mom's work so hard.

Staci you are one amazing young woman! I love you with all my heart! No one has ever worked harder than you! You have overcome some personal challenges this year that already make you a winner! I am so proud of you! You have such a wonderful future ahead of you! I am so grateful to have been able to share your journey this year! Thanks for making Pleasant Grove so proud! You wear the crown well! You are something else! We love you!

Arriving at the Parade! This year was extra special! Mady's platform is called "Open Hearts" and because of that we were privileged to have four darling young women ride on the float with the royalty. The crowds loved them and it proved to be a really special day for all of us!

Night Three at Miss Utah

A great night at Miss Utah! Staci had talent and she knocked us over! It was perfect! She has so much personality on stage and looked beautiful! She has been a real cheerleader for all the other contestants and they all love her! Thanks for making us proud Staci!

Night Two at Miss Utah

Pleasant Grove is mighty proud tonight! Have you ever seen 3 more beautiful ladies than these? Staci, Whitney and Kami really lit up the stage tonight! Staci was drop dead gorgeous in her evening gown! She should have won it! She looked stunning! Whitney and Kami competed in talent tonight and Whitney won the talent preliminary! Way to go ladies! You are all 3 spectacular!

Our Little Miss Sadie was amazing too! She looked adorable in her beautiful white dress and made her mom and dad really proud! The "Little Miss" is a mentoring program in the Miss America system... the little girls are featured with their "queen" in the evening gown portion of the pageant!
